|---|---|---|
| Reconocer | Muestra que entendiste antes de objetar | That makes sense for the common case, and it's simpler than what we have |
| Discrepar con criterio | La objeción, atada a un hecho, no a una preferencia | My concern is the migration: we'd be rewriting 40 endpoints while the team is also on the Q4 release |
| Proponer | Una alternativa o un experimento | Could we do it for the two busiest endpoints first and measure before committing to the rest? |
|---|---|---|
| I don't agree | Un frenazo | I see it differently — my concern is… |
| That is a bad idea | Un juicio | I'm worried that approach makes X harder later |
| You are wrong about the numbers | Una acusación | I'm getting different numbers — can we check them together? |
| We already tried that and it failed | Cierra la conversación | We tried something similar in 2024; what broke was X. Would this avoid that? |
| It is impossible | Exageración que nadie cree | I don't see how we'd do it by Friday. What would we have to drop? |
| I told you this would happen | Reproche | Now that we've seen it, should we revisit the decision? |

Negociar alcance y plazos
|---|---|---|
| Te piden algo que no entra | We can have it by Friday if we drop the CSV export — or have everything by the 15th. Which do you prefer?
| Piden una estimación en el momento | I'd rather give you a real number this afternoon than a guess now | Ganar dos horas evita meses de mala estimación |
| El alcance creció en el camino | That's new — happy to take it, but it moves the date by about a week. Should we? | Nombra el cambio sin pelearlo |
| Te piden trabajar el fin de semana | I can do Saturday morning if this is the kind of thing that can't wait. Is it? | Devuelve la pregunta de la urgencia real |
| Discrepás con la prioridad | Both matter. If we can only do one this sprint, I'd do X first because Y is blocked on the API team anyway | Ordena en vez de objetar |
| Te presionan para prometer una fecha | I can commit to the first part by the 10th. For the rest I'll have a date once I've seen the API docs | Compromiso parcial firme, mejor que uno total blando |

Reescribilo
I don't agree with this at all. Rewriting everything to GraphQL is a terrible idea and we already tried something like this two years ago and it failed. It is impossible to do it this quarter, I told you.I can see the appeal — the mobile team would stop needing custom endpoints, and that's a real cost today. My concern is the timing: we'd be rewriting 40 endpoints in the same quarter as the Q4 release, with the same four people. When we tried a partial migration in 2024, the mixed state was what hurt — two clients, two contracts, and every bug had to be checked twice. Could we do the two endpoints the mobile team asks for most, measure how much it actually saves them, and decide on the rest in January?
I see it differently on the timing. Rewriting 40 endpoints during the Q4 release is the part that worries me — the 2024 attempt got stuck in the mixed state. Two endpoints first, measure, decide in January?
